TCM Treasures from the Disney Vault Returns Sep 8

Several times a year, Turner Classic Movies hosts Treasures from the Disney Vault hosted by Leonard Maltin. This showcase features a wide array of Disney footage not seen in years, including feature films, animated shorts, made-for-television movies and more!

This collection includes the classic, Treasure Island from 1950 starring Bobby Driscoll and Robert Newton. Also, Fess Parker stars in Davy Crockett and the River Pirates. One of my favorite things about these showcases is they always include Walt Disney himself showcasing some of his latest ideas. This time, we will see an episode of Walt Disney's World of Color titled "Disneyland Around the Seasons". This episode is noted for being the first episode aired after Walt's death which happened three days earlier. Walt takes viewers on a tour of the latest updates at Disneyland and shows off some holiday traditions!

The next showcase will be shown on September 8, 2016 beginning at 8 p m. Check your local listings for the Turner Classic Movies channel. Don't forget to watch or set your DVR. This showcase is only aired once and will not be repeated! The full schedule is shown here:

Skipper Canteen now accepting Advance Dining Reservations

When the Magic Kingdom's Skipper Canteen opened last year, this table service dining location didn't accept advance dining reservations, instead only taking walk-up guests for its first few months of operation. As of last February, this dining location began taking reservations, but only for same-day diners.  

Guests can now make advance dining reservations reservations at the Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen restaurant for lunch or dinner. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance. As with all dining reservations, a credit card guarantee is required at the time of reservation and the standard cancellation policy applies.

In April, it was reported that the menu at Skipper Canteen would undergo some major changes as guests found some of the offerings a bit "too" exotic. Perhaps the new menu, along with now accepting Advance Dining Reservations, will help solve the restaurant's issue of filling tables.
