The "New and Improved" Disney Dining Plan 2015!!

Several weeks ago, rumors swirled about changes to the Disney Dining Plan. While I have not seen any "official" statements from Disney, many Cast Members and guests have confirmed that these changes are in place. While some of these changes have been "unofficially" allowed in the past, it seems they have now become policy. Also, there have been some new additions that will offer more flexibility and selection at many locations, especially for those we call "picky eaters".
The really great news is that these changes seem to offer more options to cut down on all those extra desserts we don't really need. On the other hand, for those who like to splurge on vacation, you now have access to 3 times the snacks as before!! (Better renew that gym membership when you get home!) The changes also seem to solve the dilemma of kids with big appetites and adults with small appetites. So, while planning your next trip, make note of these exciting new offers!

Table Service Dining Changes:
1. Guests may now decline the dessert option and instead substitute a side salad, cup of soup or fruit plate. No other appetizers may be substituted and the offer is available upon request.
2. Guests will NOT be restricted on the number of meal entitlements used per dining experience. This suggests that you may be able to use your entitlements to pay for meals of those dining with you who do not have the plan, however, this has not been confirmed. However, any other explanation really wouldn't make sense, lol.
3. Guests on the Deluxe, Premium or Platinum dining plan will now be able to mix adult and child credits, meaning that children can order adult meals. This change does NOT apply to the regular Disney Dining Plan.

Quick Service Dining Changes:
1. Guests may substitute their dessert or non-alcoholic drink choice for any eligible snack option. Example: if you don't want carrot cake, you can get a side of fries instead. Also, if you already have a full bottle of water, you can get an extra snack instead.
2. There will no longer be a separation of adult and child credits. Yes, your kids may order from the adult menu. Or, your light adult eater may order a child's meal.
3. Guests may now exchange a Quick Service credit for up to 3 snacks within the same transaction. You can do this a Quick Service locations, resort food courts and certain merchandise locations.
