EPCOT's Future World West - Exploring the "World", One "Land" at a Time!

The EPCOT Character Spot is your one-stop shop to meet some famous friends. You can meet Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. Usually open from park opening to closing, you can always be sure to get a picture and autograph with Mickey and friends. Formerly (as pictured), you could also meet Donald, Daisy, Pluto and often Chip and Dale and other friends here as well. Let's hope they bring that back!

Formerly the Living Seas, this pavilion was re-themed after the release of Finding Nemo. On The Seas with Nemo and Friends ride, guests board their clamobiles and journey through the sea with Dory, Marlin and other characters to go in search of Nemo who is lost again! As you travel through the sea, you will see these characters swimming along with real fish through the use of special effects glass.

After you find Nemo, you can head over to visit with one of his other pals. At Turtle Talk with Crush, you can talk with the coolest sea turtle in the ocean. This great interactive attraction lets kids talk to Crush and ask questions that he will answer!

At the end of your Nemo ride, you will find yourself at the aquarium. Once the largest saltwater aquarium in the world, you can explore more than 70 varieties of marine animals. The tank holds 5.7 million gallons of water and has over 80,000 inhabitants. You can purchase tours that include scuba diving in the tank and you can also view the tank while dining at Coral Reef.

Next we move over to the Land pavilion and the main attraction there is Soarin! This ride uses a mechanical lift that raises you up before a giant concave screen. You will take on the view of a hang glider soaring over the most famous attractions in California in just 5 minutes. The ride uses sight, motion, wind and scent to give you the experience of actually hang gliding. After soaring over mountains, orange groves, oceans and more, you will finish your journey flying over the night sky at Disneyland! UPDATE: A recent announcement was made that beginning next year, this ride will updated to Soarin Around the World. The new update will takes guests around the globe flying over some of the most unique natural landscapes and man-made wonders of the world!

Also in the Land pavilion, take a boat ride through an amazing greenhouse and fish farm. Living with the Land shows different technologies used to grow food that is actually used in Walt Disney World restaurants.

In the Harvest Theater, you can see Circle of Life. This film by friends Timon, Pumbaa and Simba gives entertaining and educational lessons about nature.

Moving on to the Imagination pavilion, we find Journey Into Imagination with Figment. On this ride, Dr. Channing invites you to an open house of the Imagination Institute. You will travel through five labs based on human senses with Figment causing mischief along the way!

Imageworks, also known as What If? labs, is also inside the Imagination pavilion. At this interactive exhibit area, you can play with Figment, make music and even create your own Figment to email home.

Captain Eo, the 3D science fiction film starring Michael Jackson ran from 1986 through the 90's. It returned to EPCOT in 2010 as a tribute after Jackson's death. Produced by George Lucas and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, the film takes you on a musical journey through space with Michael and his ragtag spaceship crew on a mission to deliver a gift to the Supreme Leader. This attraction took the place of Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.

As you head to Showcase Plaza, take some time to watch the Fountain of Nations. In this large fountain, you will see water dance in sync to musical soundtracks. It runs about every 15 minutes and is definitely worth watching.
